belitiketselamat.my Portal Launched To Curb Ticket Fraud

25/05/2026 10:45 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysians now have a dedicated reference platform to combat ticket touts and concert scams following the launch of the belitiketselamat.my portal.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the portal, introduced under the Beli Tiket Selamat (BTS) Campaign, will enable local entertainment fans to verify the authenticity of tickets before making any transactions.

“Fake ticket advertisements spread very rapidly on social media and messaging applications, with some appearing just minutes after an event is announced, especially when official tickets have sold out,” he said at the pre-launch of the BTS Campaign at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here tonight.

Fahmi said the 24-month strategic initiative would strengthen intervention efforts by the authorities through more structured data-sharing between the industry and the government.

“BTS does not replace the role of the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC), the Royal Malaysia Police’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department, or the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.

“It strengthens enforcement efforts by providing actionable intelligence to support faster intervention,” he said.

Apart from the portal, Fahmi said the campaign will also provide help desks at event venues to enable scam victims to obtain assistance in filing NSRC reports within just 15 minutes.

The proactive measure is being introduced in conjunction with KL Headline Season 2026, which is expected to attract thousands of spectators to the capital for various international-standard concerts.
