Police Nab Two In Bera, Seize Drugs Worth Nearly RM54,000

KUANTAN, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Two men suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and abuse were arrested in two separate raids carried out in Bera today.

Bera police chief Supt Zulkiflee Nazir said police also seized drugs worth RM53,947.40 during the operations.

“In the first raid, police arrested a 48-year-old wiring technician at a house in Felda Purun and recovered a compressed block wrapped in black adhesive tape, believed to be ganja, weighing about 659.14 grams,” he said in a statement today.

He added that in a second operation in Kampung Bohor Baru, police detained a 42-year-old self-employed man and seized a black plastic bag containing suspected ganja weighing 1,057.64 grams.

Further inspection of the suspect’s waist pouch, police found 536 pills believed to be yaba weighing 57.58g, one packet of heroin weighing 23.22g, seven aluminium foil packets containing 70 erimin 5 pills weighing 19.59g, as well as 18.66g of ganja and four grams of syabu, he said.

Zulkiflee said action was also taken against the second suspect under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, with police seizing the man’s vehicle valued at about RM30,000.
