KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- Police managed to shut down a drug trafficking operation by arresting three men in an operation last Thursday.
Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said the suspects, 28 to 42, were believed to be actively engaged in criminal activities in the Sungai Buloh and Hulu Selangor areas.
He added that the arrest of the first suspect in Kampung Baru Subang, Sungai Buloh, Selangor had led to the arrest of two other suspects in Bukit Beruntung, Selangor.
"Total value of the drugs seized is estimated to be between RM30,000 and RM40,000 (while) preliminary investigations show that the modus operandi of this network is to order cannabis from neighbouring countries, which is sent via local courier companies before being sold in Klang Valley," he said in a statement today.
He said that 1,006.5 grams (g) of cannabis, heroin (40.93 g), yaba pills (57.56 g), ecstasy pills (3.32 g) and syabu (0.82 g ) were seized, adding that the three men have been remanded for five to seven days from June 20 to 26 under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
